Arlate is a creative platform designed to transform words, images, and strokes into unique visual compositions — inspired by digital lettering aesthetics and chalkboard art.
Arlate is an infinite canvas visual editor — think of it as a borderless digital chalkboard where you can type, draw, and place images anywhere in space, at any scale.
The platform was born from the belief that creative expression shouldn't be complicated. You don't need graphic design skills to create something beautiful. Every element you add to the canvas is treated as an autonomous piece of art: with position, rotation, scale, and its own unique visual style.
The name Arlate comes from arte (art) + late (latent) — the idea that every message carries hidden beauty waiting to be revealed. Arlate helps you unveil it.

One of Arlate's most signature features is that each text element added to the canvas automatically receives a randomly assigned visual style — font, color, and size are chosen from a curated collection of artistic typefaces.
This means that typing "Happy Birthday" can display each word in a different calligraphy style and vibrant color, producing a rich visual composition with zero design effort. The selection happens upon element creation — and you can re-roll a new style anytime with a single click.
Available typefaces are artistic and calligraphic: High Empathy, Kabur, Manosque, Moon Dance, Soda Shake, Tapestry, Vegabond, and more. Each carries a distinct personality, ranging from rustic lettering to delicate scripts.

Beyond text, you can place images directly onto the canvas. Personal photos, illustrations, logos — any image can be dragged and dropped onto the canvas or uploaded from the toolbar.
Once added, images can be freely resized, rotated, repositioned, and have their opacity adjusted. You can also change the blend mode against the canvas background, creating creative overlay effects such as screen or multiply.
Images coexist seamlessly with text elements on the same canvas, and you maintain complete control over layer stacking order — what sits in front, what sits behind — via the layers panel.

Arlate features a freehand drawing tool that allows you to sketch lines and illustrations directly onto the canvas. With multiple brushes available — from fine point to watercolor — you can complement your typography and images with hand-drawn flourishes.
Drawings are treated as native canvas elements: they can be moved, resized, and organized in layers. You can also use the eraser to clean up strokes, or delete an entire drawing stroke with a single keypress.
For compositions combining calligraphy with hand-drawn strokes, Arlate delivers a cohesive look thanks to its shared color palette and handcrafted aesthetic.

The layers panel gives you a structured overview and full control over every element on your canvas. Every text snippet, image, or sketch appears as an independent layer, letting you reorder, hide, lock, or delete without disturbing other elements.
Clicking a layer in the panel smoothly flies the camera to that element — essential when navigating large, expansive canvases. The lock feature prevents accidental movement or edits while working on adjacent details.
Visibility toggles (show/hide) are especially handy when exporting: you can hide specific elements to generate different versions of the same artwork without deleting anything.
Arlate's canvas has no borders. You can place elements anywhere in space and navigate smoothly using zoom and pan — like a map that stretches as far as your imagination.
Zoom ranges from broad panoramic views of your entire composition down to microscopic close-ups where every curve and texture of a font is crisp. This is ideal both for precision editing and for immersive presentations.
On desktop, navigate with mouse wheel (zoom), click and drag (pan), or intuitive keyboard shortcuts. On mobile, use pinch-to-zoom and two-finger dragging for effortless navigation.
When your artwork is ready, export it in various formats: high-resolution PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. The export dialog lets you configure quality, enable transparent backgrounds, and crop specific canvas regions.
For creators giving visual presentations, Arlate offers a dedicated presentation mode — allowing you to tour the canvas like a slide deck, transitioning between focal points with smooth animated camera movements. You can even record these tours directly as videos for social media.
